Looking for a kitchen model

Hi all,

I've got a low-budget, urgent project to finish. The client wants a kitchen setting but there isn't the money either to buy one in or to model one from scratch.

Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably good kitchen interior model for free? There must be a few about...

Web site updated

Hi folks. As a shameless bit of self-promotion, I'd like to make it known that I have just revamped my web site.

In justification, I'd also like to mention that most of the images were rendered using Kray!

Do drop by if you have a minute.

Cheers,

Rendering to hdr

Maybe I'm missing something important here.

When I render to hdr with kray, the picture in the progress window is quite bright but when I load the finished render into LW's image editor it is much darker.

Is this becaise Kray is applying a gamma correction to the image in the progress window, but ...

Re: refraction causing glass to appear luminous

I find refraction blurring does this unless the setting is very, very low (1-2%).

Excellent: a chance to install 9.5 on a secondary machine and have a look at it! (can't risk upgrading from 9.3.1 on my working machine when I'm right in the middle of this!)

Thanks again!

Re: Help! I have to animate a huge building!

Thanks Jure, I'll get some experimenting done!
Gi sharing should work the way you described. I think you can even try without VirtualRender and just use many computers to render same scene with same LOAD GI file.
I only have one LW seat. Can I render on multiple machines using Kray.exe? If so ...

Help! I have to animate a huge building!

It's a monster. The building is 120m across, four storeys tall.

The client wants a fly-through of one floor. There are plenty of windows but the building is quite wide so natural light doesn't always make it right to the middle so i will need to put illumination inside.

What would be the best way ...

It has a nice calm feel to it. Good to see a church filled with light!

On a technical note: the grain on the arches looks wrong. I suspect they would be made from at least four parts (two uprights & then two spans which would join at the apex). The uprights would probably have vertical grain for ...

I dont agree with you with charging people according on your time spent working...lets face it, you could be a much much slower modeler then me, also you could be using Maxwell for rendering and I could be using Kray.
Its simply an individual thing!
Nonsense. If I quote on a job but the client ...

have you play with sunsky parameter?
Turbidity 4, horizon brightness 0.5 - all other settings default. Sun is a spot light 1km distant with inverse square falloff & a range of 1km. Set the colour to a warm yellow/orange. The blue from the sunsky ...

Nothing special about it. Just a flat plane with a texture map (from ambientlight). Anti-aliasing settings for Kray are Low, Quasi-random, 0.01,10,50, Nitchell.

Thanks for the comments.

Render time is 10 min on a 2.4GHz Q6600 (quad core). Most of that is down to anti-aliasing the polygonal plants I put in front of the buildings. If I'd used 2D plants, render time would have been just a couple of minutes.
