Curve modeling issue

Post by mathewlp_forum »

Hi everybody, I really need some help !! I know this is not about kray render help but u guys are mostly lightwavers and would maybe be very helpful to me so...

I have to create some kind of Roasting material on an existant surface.

The aim is to create curves, and then make a rail extude on them, but the problem is that theses curves have to be diagonal in order to follow exactly the surface.

So I first try to make them straight, then twist them on my model surface but I doesn't follow the shape because the model's shape isn't perfect circular!!

Then I decided to subdivide the surface in order to get many points to finally be able to create these diagonal curves...

But this is very long and louddddddd

So any idea to simplify this work??

Thanks guys

PS: Sorry my english is very bad, I hope you'll understand my problem, if not maybe this little drawing will help

use LWCAD: create one curve. Radial array it around the shape. Push them around with move tool with falloff to make it the shape u want. Or maybe you can use ko-pointfit or BGconform to stick them to your original mesh. Then all you need to do is use LW_cad profiler tool and voila!
