Hi
I need help.
My client wants me to show his patterns engraved in/on glass
with and without LED lightening.
I was trying simulate this effect by putting the pattern inside the glass
and engraving this same on the glass surface.
Glass is node by Janusz. Pattern the same material except micro bump and reflectinion blurring + Frenel IOR B-10.
LED is a polygon outside the thin side of the glass.
Pattern withot LED is quite good but could be little better,
I dont want to put any other flat white material to the pattern, but glass.
I think it should work - any suggestions welcome.
But lightening the pattern is more difficult to simulate.
Better effect is when using single sided glass material,
but still far away to reality.
Maybe someone has a better idea? Please help

Re: Engraved glass & LED
This is very difficult material
Full of physics. I suggest use Maxwell for that
Problem with engraved glass is absorption. This is very strong absorbed material and by this it make itself lighting. So must be I think combination of refraction blur,
reflection, bump, translucency (as SSS simulation). Also borders of engraved parts should have different light? Effect must be also subtle with LED lights (I think).
Thx for interesting subject !
