Interior lights

Post by cruisermori »

What´s the best method (set-up) for interior light. I would like to simulate normal lamp with bulb. See attached sample. Problem is to find balance between light intensity (bulb luminosity) to not overburn light shade. Any suggestion.

My set-up. Lamp is very simple. Cylinder and inside is capsule with Luminosity 1200%. Light shade - Difuse 15%, Transluency 20%

Hmm well if you think about real scene like this you would have incredible problems photographing it, because lights would always appear heavily burned out.

That's essentialy what's happening here. In either case a room that is as big as this would need more light sources to light it evenly.

Anyways you could try two things to overcome this in Kray:
- turn to exponential mode in general panel
- use photon multiplier >1 to fake more light (which you did allready)

Thanks Jure for help and good expert opinon. Here is my last render without any PS work. I faked light in photon multiplier (used 30). I am quite satisfied with KRay output.
