Problem after first render
Problem after first render
Hi
i've a problem with all scenes.
After the first of 3 or + render kray is incredibly slow.
so in first render with 10min i've the final - the second 1 or + hour!!
why does this happen?
if close lw and reset all reload scene with 2^ render and i've 10mi first frame -> second as up!!
why!!!

Re: Problem after first render
Do you talk about BAKE GI or normal render animation or still images. More details please.

3 image.
first render 24 min - initial 9.32 am final 9.56 am
second render - initial 9.56 am -> now in render 76% (12.16 am)!!!

Re: Problem after first render
Ok I suspected huge amount of recurse in scene and render just lost with calculation for that. It happen sometimes when you not limit recurse. I would like to see image. Also I can help you with limits for recurse: put this in all Nodes (It is all ready in Eclipse package)
So in Logic you have limitation for recurse - in this case for reflection. I use this limiter non stop. It increase speed rapidly in scenes with many reflection surfaces. So I do not allow render engine calculate reflection in reflection over three times because over 2 times you will not see different. For wooden floor for example I use ONLY ONE or maximum TWO!
Generally it can be situation when render engine "stuck" with calculation of reflection - it can be place when many high reflected surfaces are enough close each with not comfortable angle to camera. This is normal situation and I avoid it by this Logic function.
Add this for high reflected surfaces (metal) and tell me it helped or not.
Also problem can be completely somewhere else

Re: Problem after first render
Need to test this.
It's a restaurant with table, glass and other.
Want see it because now render low resolution but final render 4000*2000....

I think this is maybe problem: massive recurse calculations (glass, metal)
Re: Problem after first render
I have similar problem with almost all scenes, I render one frame in let's say a minute and when I try to render again the same frame or other the render time is multiplied 10 or twenty times. The only cure is to restart lightwave.

Ok then, Tell me LW version and Kray version.
It must something extraordinary because I did not notice it. I use LW 11.6.1 + K2.56.
Please check also what type camera you use or Nodes. Also export Kray Setting and share it , I will check it also.
Re: Problem after first render
Currently 11.6.2 + K2.56 (had the same problems with K.55 also)Janusz Biela wrote:ideart wrote:I have similar problem with almost all scenes, I render one frame in let's say a minute and when I try to render again the same frame or other the render time is multiplied 10 or twenty times. Classic Camera, problem with and without nodes.

Re: Problem after first render
This is the point that takes alot to calculate after the first render.

Re: Problem after first render
Ok thx!
I noticed also something strange. I switched now to 2.55 and speed is good. Because I used 2.55 long time and it was not problem then I suspect bug in last Kray.
I will post this to G.

btw in Path Passes Corner Distance 200% is far too big. With that value you generate Path Tracing photons everywhere so time render will be longer. I think maximum should be 50-75%

Thanks for the tip, I am often leaning to overkill. I will try your settings.Janusz Biela wrote:
