Re: KRay 2.0 LScript UI Re-Layout Test
I do like these two last UI ideas. The carbon fibre header is cool!

Re: KRay 2.0 LScript UI Re-Layout Test
To be honest - I prefer the original. I think in terms of design, I think yours is worse. Aesthetically it is definitely neater, but your version has no focus. The original, while having some areas that don't quite line up, has almost a dual-column approach, where the most important options are on t...

Re: Test renders
Damn you're good! Am I missing something here? Is Poland the render capital of the world?

Re: WIP Hall
I don't pretend to be an expert with Kray by any means, but I don't recall seeing a single image here (or anywhere else for that matter) which uses the ceiling as light source successfully. This may be because I haven't realised how some scenes have been set up or I don't understand your suggestion ...

Re: WIP Hall
What about using the photon multplier (what Johny calls the "power shader") for the floor?

Re: New features
Undoubtedly! But it still doesn't help those of us who want to eliminate this sort of thing

Re: New features
This is exactly what I mean, but I don't think Johny would use 'bad' AA settings and actually the AA looks okay to me. I'm sure it's not moire patterns either because the splotches are irregular and don't follow a pattern. It just looks like there aren't as many samples in that area. As a render it ...

Re: New features
Awesome work again johny! But - in the first image, the grilles in the wall are distorted with noise/poor AA.
I have had this sort of thing before, and it doesn't look like moire patterns. How do you fix this? Spatial tolerance/angular tolerance/FG rays?

Re: exterior
Also, the alpha map cars are too sharp, and need softening a little. Personally I would remove the vegetation from the balconies. They are too repetitive and this is a real giveaway in a render. There are 6 of these and they all look the same. If you can see more than 1 identical tree or shrub, you ...

Re: exterior
Much better! Still a bit repetitive though. Needs more patchiness and flowers IMO.
Most importantly, there is a vertical tree right in the centre of the image, which composiotionally is a really bad thing to do

I have attached a photo of my grass to illustrate my point. I have made a seamless version (because I want to use it as a texture) which I won't post because you guys seem to prefer instanced grass

Re: exterior
That's a really nice image and the grass is very good - but only because it has patchiness and variation. It is also a much smaller area, so it is easier to make it look good. It's not that realistic though. While typing, I am looking out of my window at the grass I cut earlier. It is patchy. there ...

Re: exterior
I like the buildings, but for me, the background is too blurry, and the 2d trees don't look very good. The grass just looks wrong. I have a problem with this kind of grass - it is far too even and regular. In reality, most short grass is patchy. There are occasional flowers, weeds and stones. If the...
