Re: Just wanted to say Good Day

Welcome Macdoggie, it's alway's good to see new kray users, especially Mac ones  Has any one here had a chance to Run Kray in Lightwave on any of the quad core intel Macs and is the performance (render-wise) in the UB Mac builds of LW noteworthy.D The current development of the Mac kray plugin...

I think asking for a demo/trial is perfectly reasonable. Yes, I know the software isn't "complete" yet, but apparently its finished enough to take our money. I mean no disrespect for Gregorz; I know enough programming to know how much I don't know, and he's done a remarkable job in creati...

Hi mats, I still cannot seem to get a clean GI for the anim.. :( if you see the column inside the bar there is a flicker there.. I don't think the flickering has anything to do with the GI, the GI in the foreground looks fine. I think it maybe something to do with the reflective/ transparency of the...

I assume for the 2nd pass we keep it at both still? 1st pass on 1 machine in SAVE mode 2nd pass with network nodes in BOTH mode You could probably skip the 1st pass and let all the nodes generate the GI as they come to it, this is something I haven't got round to testing. I did the two pass method ...

Hi mats, Looking at your settings you have shared for all frames set at load, you need it to be set at BOTH for savegimode 1; for all the nodes to load and save to the same GI file You also have set all of the FG rays and prerender to 0% therefore no new GI will be calculated, leave the FG settings ...

is the mac issue solved in OB5? the one issue where the LWS would get corrupted, etc.. is it safe to work on mac/pc these days? or not yet? thanks Matt - The old PPC corruption problem is not present in the UB kray. (OB5 for PPC does not exist). The Kray UB had it's own LS issue which was related t...

Hi guys, I've done some limited network rendering testing with the savegimode 1; and have found that it works extremely well, ie no flickering between frames. I'll share my work flow to compare with those who were having problems with this mode and see if there is a difference. 1. Using lightmap mod...

Nah, 1080 can be rendered fine by one machine. Final print can be impossible to render for LW (or Kray) due memoryadressing. There VirtualRender comes into place. Sure, but I was coming from the point of view of rendering animation scene's which have intensive raytracing and AA requirements, not so...

I thought so too, but i wonder if there is any gain in rendering each single frame of an animation over multiple pc's. I think the load per machine is bigger then the adventage. Most networkrenders distrubute the single frames to different nodes, instead of having all nodes render at one frame. Thi...

Very nice as usual Johny. Are there any surfaces which don't have any blurred reflection  The only thing which my eye gets drawn to are the plates and chairs which seem a little over exposed IMHO. Is this another Vray scene? would it be possible to post a link to some V-ray renders of this sce...

hope soon means..... soon  If you have access to the newtek beta forums have a look for a thread which 3dworks created yesterday regarding the Kray UB. It should give you a better understanding why the UB has not gone to Open Beta 'yet'. I can assure you the kray UB is worth the wait, and it'...
