Re: At last, some competition for johny!
Ooh - like to see that kind of confidence! Modelling in that amount of detail for you would take me quite some time, and even then I suspect that your renders would show up problems with my models

At last, some competition for johny!
I don't know if any of you have seen this site (http://www.peterguthrie.net/), but it looks truly photorealistic to me.
I don't think I have seen a more convincing render of a piece of architecture ever. Stunning!
Interesting to see what johny thinks of this

Re: Wip
Great work Sid - and my sincerest thanks to Erwin and Jure for all of your help with these parameters.
You've been fantastic!
Hopefully we'll get even closer to Kray and push all the pros here to raise their game!

Matt, as long as they explain things well enough, and they up to your usual standard, I'm sure they will be awesome!

Re: Box-house day/Night
Something doesn't quite look right here to me. The model needs visible light fittings to cast light from. The house looks like it is in pools of light and it just isn't realistic. You have a beautifully-detailed and textured model but the lighting looks weird. I don't know if you have added too much...

Jure, these links are actually dead. Florian must have moved the videos.

Re: photorealistic render
Didn't you look through the gallery before posting? Some of the images there are definitely as good as anything any other engine can produce. The main thing with images this good though it the person creating them. It's an obvious thing to say but it just isn't as straightforward as setting a few op...

Re: Kray Standalone
There are definitely way more SketchUp users than Lightwave users. The basic version is free (and Podium works perfectly with it) so this is to be expected. The original SU plugin was started maybe 5 years ago, and it was intended to have Kray at that stage. SInce then, lots of things have changed a...

Re: Kray Standalone
The kray engine implementation for SketchUp is called Podium. Only the latest V2 version uses Kray and it has only been released in beta form for a few days. To get access to it you need a valid licence for the current version - V1.7.1. It is usable now. We have some issues with some things but ever...

Re: Kray Standalone
An application which runs on its own without a modeller and renders kray geometry or imports 3ds format files with the Kray render engine. Configuration is with plain text files. More information in the wiki.
