Re: Instance from LW11

And LW 11 instance tool is not so perfect, you need only to read a bit of the problems people is having with it on the NT forums! :| Problems? Well - it's a new tool, so there are a few (minor) bugs that need to be ironed out; and it doesn't do EVERYTHING, so there have obviously been featur...

Re: LW v11 instancing

Here's a scene you might recognize :P On my 8-core VPR takes about 15 seconds to get to the level you see in the image, while rendering - with some decent AA and radiosity settings - about 3 minutes; which is exactly the same time it takes to KRay with the scene's default settings. Pretty impressive...

Re: LW v11 instancing

Not without an update. We need to check the LW11 SDK but we should be able to add support for it. That would be fantastic: LW11 instances are insanely powerful, seem very well implemented and render (from my early tests) just as fast as K-Ray native ones. Of course you might have something even bet...

Re: New Wip ...

Ok, I don't know what your settings are - looks like a very small, very bright area light - but there's waaaaay too much direct lighting in that image - and harsh! It looks like the sun has turned into a blue giant or something... it's an interesting effect actually, but generally the clients tend t...

All kinds of trouble with 10.1

Jure,

in the latest 10.1 incarnations Kray is either VERY crashy (last week's release) or, apparently, just doesn't work (today's one): are you guys aware of this, is it Newtek's fault, do you need to patch something, should I panic?

Thankee,

ADP.

Re: Night view

Hi Azmen, the problem with the "nightly" images you generally see on magazines and websites is... they're not nightly at all! Take the one you linked for instance - that's early evening, at best. And there's a ton of coloured light sources around, too - what makes people think "oh yea...

Re: kray works with last 10.1 ?

I haven't noticed a difference between 10 and 10.1; I've had the odd crash but usually just reloading the scene is enough. Except of course if you have clipmaps, they're definitely broken in 10.1.

Wow. Well, now I'm curious! An unbiased K-ray? Gimme!

Re: Archviz Training DVD - from Evermotion

+2. I've been advocating for good presets for years now - Lightwave's are average and, for the most part, five or so years old - and it applies to everything, K-ray included. "Low-medium-etc" is not enough - ideally we should have stuff such as "exterior shot, full daylight, small bui...

Re: Chinese Mosque - Architectural Competition

Hey nice work again! May I ask how do you do texturing of the roads? Man, there *has* to be an easy way to do those damned roads. I mean, Azman's idea obviously works, but it sounds very time-consuming and I really wouldn't want to end up with a 10k map... LWCAD's road tool works very well but only...

Re: What happened with CORE?

Hi Guys, I just downloaded lightwave 10 trial and what I noticed is where are all the cool things they developed in lighwave CORE? Look, I'm not going to pay 495 for this kind of update. I use Fprime, so why do I need the VPR of lightwave 10? Virtual studio in 10, cool for big studios but useless f...

I just starting make my own library for vRoom but need to hold for awhile because of this project. :). Ok so about the lamp post that's meant should I put the light source on each lamp post to...

Re: Night scene with Kray

Hi guys, I just tried to render the the night scene with Kray. I'm not sure what was wrong with my scene. Need some tips and help from you guys. Anyway how to make more glow on the objects in Kray? Already put the higher amount but not much different. Errm. Windows' lights need to be more varied im...

Absolutely beautiful: and besides, anything with Spongebob in it gets a +100 points bonus by default.

If I have to criticize something... the background. It looks like a (bad) impressionist painting.

Re: Small image with higher DPI in Kray

Also note that a smaller image with higher dpi won't give you anything in terms of actual resolution: a 20*20 cm image at 72dpi is exactly the same as a 5*5 cm at 300 dpi - still about 600*600 pixels. If you need a precise print size at a predefined dpi resolution use Lightwave's own DPI camera plug...
