Welcome Lee,

I look forward to those renders. :D

For some instant tips I'd highly recommend you take a look at the kray wiki, it's in its infancy but should soon become the first place to look for kray info.

He's raised the bar so high I can no longer see it

Seriously great stuff again Johny, you really should do a tutorial some day, and I'm sure there would be plenty who would pay for it.

Thats right, the number of bounces is taken from LW ray recursion value, but you can also set it independently with a Kray tailer command, for eg. "recurse 20;" would set the number of bounces to 20.

I'm really interested in seeing your clone placement technique.

HD-instance support in Kray is in the roadmap for the final version of kray, hopefully that can be done.

Nice test,

I see you've got the hang of kray instances already

Then create Null, name it Bush. Another little tip for null creation workflow: As instances can be difficult to place within layout as they are just point nulls, instead of "adding" nulls just clone your objects as per normal to get their correct positions then use "replace as null&q...

What Jure meant was that network and distributed rendering is slated for the point release after the official release of kray of 1.7.

Re: shaders-KrayIndirectRays

Hi there, I am very keen to get started with testing out the Kray shaders and can see how to load them but where can I find them as they are not in my list of shaders already? You need to remove the kray plugin, then add it again. This is what I do for every new version, just incase G has added or ...

Just a word of warning that there are some G5 specific bugs with kray, which I cannot say whether they will be fixed in the GM version of 1.7. So my advise to anybody wishing to use Kray on the Mac would be to use a Intel Mac, as I cannot guarantee that Kray on a PPC machine will have parity with th...

Ok, here's a still of the scene using skyportals.

I was able to reduce the amount of photons down by 2/3 because I used skyportals, so you'll notice that render time halved compared to the original lightmap render.

You guys are going to love skyportals

Re: Quick update using Skyportals

Doesn't seem to be working for me. Just a blank QT window pops up, but the play button is grayed out, and no time line. Basically can't do anything. :?: are you running Vista64 or XP64 by any chance, with QT 7.4.1? I'm using Xp64bit with QT 7. 3 .1 I believe QTVR's seem to be a bit funny on some Wi...
