KRay and Multi-Pass rendering?

I'm new to KRay and LW. Can I use LW 9.0/9.2 with KRay and make a serie of 16bit multipasses images? Mostly I'm in a photorealistic still image field. Not animation..
Could someone suggest me what should work with KRay and what should work with FPrime. I've planned to buy both but need to know from other experience.
Thank you very much!

Well currentl there's no *direct* solution for rendering passes. You have to setup passes by hand if you want them.
I haven't used passes much in LW either but those few cases that I did was so that I rendered out all the separate passes with render buffer or PSD export and then composed in some compositing app.

Hi, Jure
thank you for your reply. so, we've to rely on PSD export. Ok, at least it's still have photoshop export.
I'm very regret about Surpass plugin...
I'm not a KRay user yet. Can I still use KRay and render as Layered PSD file format?

If you want to render out passes with differen objects in them, you have to set it up by hand. If you want the shadingpasses like Diffuse, Shadow, Specular, Reflection etc... you can use the PSD Exporter, the LW Buffersaver or one of the free Buffersaving Plugins (check Flay.com). Unfortunatly you cant (yet) get those shadingpasses with either FPrime or KRay.

Hello Markus
Nice to see you too.
I'm still using EIAS for some work that fit. I still love its shaders from KK and some from NL3D.
My workflow may be the same as you currently. Since I've found that LW is having node for material, I've purchased it and like an old wine. (I've used LW since v4-6). So my tool currently has Modo mainly, ZBrush, LW + FPrime + KRay (Just added). Maxwell is ok but since its not well integrate with LW. MW for formZ is not my tool anymore (I've sold my formZ). The upgrade price for MW for me isn't nice and easy since no people here want to pay for a job that REALLY need that quality and it's worse when they see the render time + grain in the picture
So, KRay and FPrime may be a new hope for me.
Well, at least I'll test KRay hard and push it to the front. I hope it will much more kicker when I can use it with LW UB.
