I am sure all the tweaks and settings make sense to a tech/maths guru, but PLEASE provide a simpler interface. All I want to do is set-up a render and go. All I want is to set up an animation and go.

I just can't get decent results without wasting hours of time waiting for test renders...what a complex thing!

Well that's what the presets are for. Are they not working for you?

Hmm yes GUI in 1.7 has been greatly simplified by the means of presets so to bring beginners up to speed very quickly.

There are still advanced features that advanced users can use to fine tune their renders...
