Hey guys, after about a year of fiddling I finally figured out how to use kray. So I rendered this out. =)

Its a model I made a few years ago, I could never render with blurred ref because it took too long, now I can with kray!

I worked on the paint last night and got a good metallic look to it, what do you think?

I've got a few things to sort out on the model and scene, it should be a nice final though.

BTW I'm still using 1.612 at home. I have 1.7 at work only. bring on the deom please!

Looks good so far! You can bring 1.7 home too since it's not tied to dongle. Would be interesting to see speed comparision between the two.

really, if I bring it home is that ok with the license? it would be interesting to see the time difference yes!

Yes that's OK since the license is tied to YOU not the computer you work on.

Hmm, I got 1.7 working at home, but its not as good in some ways.

1.) It reloads the scene every frame causing it to slow down for animations, 1.612 didn't do this, so i have quick 15sec per frame renders.
2.) For some reason it always does 9 passes for the AA turning on undersample doesn't let it do only one pass, and it reloads the whole scene just for each pass... really slow
3.) It uses more memory than 1.612 did..
4.) It does NOT work the same way with the SAVE of the GI file, in 1.612 I would save Photon Estimate and then LOAD it and it would NOT go through the steps= ComputingGlobalPM>AnalizingPM>PrecomputingIrradiances. But in 1.7 even if I SAVE the file, it doesn't seem to improove any speed. It always goes through the building on the PM etc.

Thoughts?

That's strange. It shouldn't work like that. Perhaps you should remove KRay completely and add it again. Also make sure you have latest version (OB2).

Maybe the problem is that new Kray doesn't read your old settings properly. Try removing Kray master saving scene, restart and add Kray again.

If theres anything that works worse than in 1.612 then it's definitely a bug and needs to be squashed! :)

Did you get it to render properly? If not let me know so I can see if there's a bug...

Yeah I did, but I still haven't sorted out the differences between 1.7 and 1.612, I'll let you know.
