Speed test

Just a speed test on a scene Neverko did.

http://xoomer.alice.it/engramstudios/KR ... t_Kray.jpg

The test was run on Modo and LW 9.2 with SSS.
Kray doesnt support SSS by now, so i ativated blurred reflections and blurred refractions - it should be at least as heavy as SSS. Notice the extremely heavy blurring on wall's reflection and how it's perfectly clean anyway.
Time is the same Modo 202 took to render on a machine which is nearly 2x fast, a AMD 3800 dualcore, and i've not optimized the scene at all - this is first result i got, i'll tweak it a bit if i've some free time.

Yes Kray has much faster GI and blurred reflections than those apps so I guess result is expected...

lol :) yesterday I did the same test.. not posted because it's a little overexposed.. and obviously I've loaded Medium preset only and fired the render..

my machine is AMD Athlon64 X2 4200+ with 2GB RAM DDR.

for surface settings, I've translated the nodal setup to layers.. well, with all limitations we have (example: absorption), so I've setted color as 244 200 151, diffuse 75%, specularity 10%, glossiness 20%, translucency 60%.. same values you can find in the material node. but looking at modo render, some reflections are missing.. and reflections on wall are more blurred. have to done another test..

I finf Kray very good for blured reflection, but when there's a lot of edge to AA, time render is too hight :!:
Hope G. will find a solution.

You can perhaps gain :
LW and Kray don't like to much overexposed zones.
I've seen some long render times in burned images zone.
