Is there any way to completely defeat the AA so that the image is not filtered in any way after rendering?

I have done that but it still runs a filter afterwards. I didn't see an area to completely turn off the filtering.

When rendering is in progress pixel filter is not applied, its applied at the end of rendering. If pixel is box, this does not happen (becouse preview also use box filter).

woooooofa, these pixel filters determine how the rendering data is combined in order to produce the final rendered image so you can not turn them off. you have to use one of them.the lightwave render engine classic reconstruction pixel filter is similar to Box.
if you dont want to apply a pixel filter in kray use box since this one is applied by default.
