hi
perhaps it has been already mentioned but could not find a definitive answer by searching the threads.
is reflection settings in kray different from lw? if so what is the factor that affects it.

i know about the 100%(total of diffuse and reflection) rule...Its just seems like things are quite different between the two engines (fprime is closer to lw).
particularly when you have a reflectioin map (black and white) i have to set the layer opacity to somewhere in the single digits (%)

thanks

ps using 1.7 ob2

I think it shouldn't be much different than LW's. But once you bring in GI can can look a bit different. There are also other things like gamma that affect the look of surfaces...

Try doing raytrace only in Kray and compare results...

I think Kray defaults to gamma 2.2, whereas Lightwave and FPrime use a linear color space. This will dramatically change the look.

Yes LW and Fprime use linear color space. In kray default gamma is also 1.0. But gamma between 1.4 - 1.6 seems to work best in KRay...
