Not sure if this has been flagged up anywhere else... If you're upgrading from 1.6 to 1.7, it's worth clearing out the old Kray settings from your scenes so that 1.7 can start from fresh. I've had one or two crashes and weird things happening when trying to use 1.7 to render scenes originally set up for 1.6.

Load up your scene.
Delete the Kray master plugin.
Save the scene.
Quit & restart LW.
Load scene.
Start Kray.
Save scene.

Solves all kinds of troubles.
