Still I wait for K3 update so here are small tests (soon in K3 also) I tried keep same level of noise, blur, Ant Aliasing.
Corona:
Kray:
V-ray (but I think this is high setting so only for view):

Hey!
Haven't posted here for a while
These images, for me at least, are exactly presenting the main difference between render engines especially Kray.
Every thing is almost the same (shadow contact, how light hits the walls, even brightnes of space,...) but the main difference between images are in highlights - on second gray lamp kray has no strong highlight, and also on other surfaces kray struggles with that.
I think that realism comes much from highlights. The reflections of light source in Kray (and also with LW native engine) is a lot of times very weak, so the image quickly turns flat.
What is your opinion?

Differences are from not exist tools in Kray. As you know Corona has advanced post process image control:

- capture286.png (5.6 KiB) Viewed 5320 times
and of course is impossible make the same result in Kray - I used only tone mapping system build in Kray. Corona has also very strong reduction over-burn tool, so strong that I could NOT make the same reducing Sun effect by pure Exponential in Kray (it is not enough!.
There is no differences in GI (almost) because both use interpolated photon mapping: Corona Path Tracing interpolated, Kray Hybrid Photon Mapping and Path Tracing Interpolated. Sampling also is similar: no interpolated GI sampling (QMC).
Differences comes from post processing system not from GI render system.
Of course scene is very basic so this is no serious compare but is nice to use old Kray engine (no big changes since 6 years) and get almost the same effect

Honestly I know with more complex scene Kray has no chance (on each level are missing tools: surfaces system, real time post process correction tool, old GI engine and sampling).
Also I do not use specular - why in the images some small differences.
Thanks for comments.

One more thing which I noticed last time:
Noise level and speed in Corona and Kray are similar (both QMC). There are some differences in showing image: In kray is just linear (almost). corona has special system which allow user to see fast render but after that to get clean image render engine needs a lot time (passes).
