Hi guys,

im in very tight deadline here, please find attached my settings and my wip interior shot. i just want to know how can i get the detail to appear specially on the wooden slats on the wall at tv area? i want to keep the image resolution to 1600x1000 due to long render problem. this one took 2 hours . help appreciated.

My fast solution.

PHOTONS TAB:
manual 250-300 mm GI resolution (interior) NO AUTO
Pre cache dist. 100%

FINAL GATHER TAB
must be TWO PASSES render!
 spatial tolerance is too low! ~0.07 is enough!
min/max try keep 50/1000
blur samples keep 0.3 - 1.0
brightness density 0% (do not use this)
PATH tracing MUST BE ON! so PATH 1.0 , corner dist. 5%-20%

SAMPLING TAB
this is easy for this resolution: FSAA G3 Quadratic 1.0

QUALITY TAB
Area light min/max 1/4 (if is noise then keep 2/4)

Rest, I think is ok (from my side) I would like change tone mapping:
LWF GAMMA 2.2 exposure 1.0
Exponential 5 exposure 1.0 (parameter can be raise even over 10...but You will loose colors)
Blending 70% ......but this is difficult - You will get almost LWF Gamma tone map which is really difficult to render (You have to setup really good light and surfaces)...so if is difficult then put BLENDING 30% (more exponential)

thanks Johnny, I will try your suggestion and will post update image. the reason i didnt use 2 passess on FG is because of the long rendering time. I did used 2 initially and my rendering time is like 5 almost 6 hours. thanks again and will do rendering now.

Like Johny said, your spatial tolerance is way too low. Try his settings, also 2 pass will be a lot quicker. You can also turn of Auto GI resolution and set it to manual ~250mm.

Thanks Johny and Jure, I manage to finish the rendering today. attached is the other view and using your suggestions. yup, i am still struggling with material by nodes, wish we have something like maxwell material system. thanks again for your help.
