Khan | Interior 2

Hi everyone,

I have some free time, so here is my 2nd interior attemps.
I didn't make the scene (Evermotion), but textured quickly.

My main problem is rendering time, I'm sure I can get faster results for same quality, but I'm stucked now.
1h42 min seems a lot for a 1024 x 768 scene. And edges are still jagged.
Reflection blur on textiles are very noisy, I can't figure what's wrong.
Crits and help are welcome.

Why You don`t used oversampling? I ask becouse FG 400/2000 is very high. Whay You have slow AA, blurr, GI.....
You must turn ON FG transparency.
Blurr FG maximum 2.
B/D must be 0.
Area quality 1/4 maximum , rest 0.
My favorite AA: FSAA G4 box 0.7.
Please turn ON AUTO.
The bigest problem with speed in Your scene is HIGH FG setup (400/2000) .
Please add Area light in windows (small: 1,5 m square not exacly as windows becouse You will recive noise near area lights on the ceiling and walls, this is only RAPID for light)

Thanks, I'm gonna try this.
For Oversampling, you mean by command line?

I know 400/2000 is high, but I thought it would avoid splotches and give good shadows.
I thought FG transparency would slow down the render.
Ok for B/D. and Auto.
I have an area at the window, it's half the surface of the window.

oversampling in cmds yes. Now is in GUI but still beta.
max FG for oversampling IMHO is 300/600. (I use 200/400)

I made the changes, but I get a lot of splotches and "color leaks". I'm not happy with the result.
I thought more Blur would avoid some of those problems.

I used auto, Turned FG transparency ON, B/D 0%, FG rays 100/500.
I didn"t use oversampling though, I still need to figure out how it works.
I used 20% less photons to speed up rendering.

You do something wrong.....this looks very bad.
Check precompute mode with cells where is problem also turn OFF You glass windows.

It looks very bad indeed :)
I completely removed the windows.
I need to figure how Oversampling works.
But yes, Precompute will tell me what's wrong. Should i keep the other parameters the same though?
Because I need to tweak faster and if I change many parameters at once for speed, I won't be able to get where the problem comes from. How do you proceed?

Why don't you use latest Kray version?

My test , i change some options starting with midle setting, and move the area light near the window and scale this vertically.
Change exponential to gamma 2.2 same that QLWF setting
Render with Q6600

-50% floor reflection.

Thanks,
It seems there's enough photons, but it looks washed out, thats why I didn't use Gamma 2.2.
Corners are too dark, because of corner disttance & path.

With your render I just realized that the background shape behind the windw might drop shadow causing darker areas close to the window and lighter one at the left corner of the room.

Second image no so much washed.
First is washed because you was so much reflection in ground.

With your high exponential all is supersaturated and dark. i think 4.2 is a big value.
Try 1 to 3 and increase GI.

Check too my render time ;)

My version 30 min. Please remove shaders from floor just put desaturate 100%.
