BIG Lightning Challenge for K Ray

I've seem some K ray renderings better than Maxwell ones here at the gallery.
Actually I tried lightwave to render this, but the result was too bad in comparisson to Mental Ray, Final Render and V ray ones. So I decided to not post. Lightwave rendeing times is also the big ones.
Some guys from Newtek forum are getting some good images, but no one looks realistic for me. For me the problem is lightwave render engine itself that is far from MR and V ray in terms of photorrealism.
It's a K ray area. Interior lightning. I really would like to see what K Ray users can do.
Where's the K ray users? This is the best place to see the power of K ray!

someone started already to do so:
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.ph ... tcount=173
btw. it's always the artist, not the engine

(for example, see this amazing rendering
http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.ph ... tcount=148 made with c4d + vray)

I posted my comment on newtek beta forum about the cgtalk challenge and wished johny would join. After that someone from kray joined and even made an animation.

3dworks - That's my favorite one and I pointed that out at newtek forum as well in the same thread. But as you can see its a vray render. Something that is always consistent with good vray users is that they produce good renders. This doesn't apply to other render engines. I've seen bad renders from good users in the old mray engine but if they use vray it was totally better. Not everything is equal I'm afraid and that's why kray IS still better for archiviz than F9.

actually I've already done an animation with kray for Natural History Lighting Challenge on CG Talk.....you can download the video at the address:
http://www.3dlvisualisation.com.au/museum.avi ....the texture are not so perfect but I haven't so much spare time to dedicate.
Hope you'll like it.....

PS: and yes it was me on CG Talk...(I've seen your post too late 3dworks..ehehe) but the animation is a different one now...

That looks very nice! What Kray version did you use to render it? Did you render it on single computer?

Hi Jure , I'm using Kray 1.7 OB8 that I think it's the latest version available to the public....the animation was rendered at 1440x1152 3 AA Fullscreen with a time per frame of 20 minutes on average and it was rendered on one computer Dual Quad Xeon 2.66 with 4 gigs of RAM....I'm glad you like it

vsele - That's a very good render and really shows what kray can do and in a short time. Where did you get a clean lwo model? Lets all give this a test.

The K ray render shown is great!
Lightwave itself is too far from it!
I still think the V ray renderings shown are the best ones, but K ray is almost there.
I know the user makes a big difference but the tool also does.
I'd like to see more K ray renderings.
