scene size / resize ?
scene size / resize ?
Very new to Kray (1st day), and I'm trying to apply some of the things I've learned from Jure's tutorial ( http://www.kraytracing.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=411 ), but having a bit of a problem. 1st problem seems to be the size of my scene/objects compared to the one for the tutorial. I've imported to see the size difference, and my objects, etc. just dwarf his. I'm in the USA, and my objects are just in ratio to the CAD drawings imported from clients, so it's not like I super sizing them. Now I know I can adjusted that in the light settings, but just wondering how some of you have set up a work flow to handle that.

I'll try the null suggestionAcidArrow wrote:You could size down everything in modeler, or if that's not possible, you could parent everything in layout to a null and then resize that null as needed.
The only problem with that, is like I said, I'm basing th object sizes off of the plans given. So if I start modeling a project after resizing it, then get updated plans, I have to resize that newly imported drawings at the same resize of the original. I guess that would be better, at least they would be LW real world.AcidArrow wrote:It's generally a good idea to have at least roughly, realistic and proper sizes to everything.

You may find that LW is just getting the decimal point in the wrong place. I frequently import things and find they are several kilometres long instead of several metres (ie LW has interpreted millimetres as metres).
There's a remarkable plugin called Dimension+ which is so useful it should be standard kit for everyone. You can use it to specify the absolute size of whatever you've got selected in Modeler. Download it from http://www.giannisoldati.com - it says it's for 7.5c & 8, but it works fine in 9.3.1
NB if you want to undo the effect of the plugin, you have to hit Undo three times. Not a real disadvantage considering how useful it is.
