Post by Janusz Biela » Tue Jan 15, 2019 1:01 pm

Official release K3.01

log:

Code: Select all

3.01
- optimized geometry memory usage
- faster ray cache build
- experimental fast scene import
- new tanH tone mapper allows to control shadows and bright areas contrast
- post processing (including tone mapping) real time preview
- Kray3Output now allows to save or resend last rendered image
- bug fixes:
	 ID map cycle
	 Unseen through glass not working
	 Save image without extension
New options
1. New tone mapper TanH:

Later we will add this curve to GUI.

2. Real time tone map. To achieve this option (VPR still is under developing) you must finish render.
Simple open after render Tone map option:
TanH.png
TanH.png (13.19 KiB) Viewed 1096 times
and from now you can change values and see what is effect of that in K3 render window.

3. New Output options:
Output.png
Output.png (10.04 KiB) Viewed 1096 times
Where:
- Frame buffer open (if you closed) K3 window render. K3 store all data in memory include GI.
- Send to LW - it send actual buffer (render) to LW window
- Save - you can save image directly.

4. New Loader: Turbo/Fast/standard
Default in Kray is standard mode because G. still develop Turbo and Fast mode.
You can activate them from command line if you want test it:
TURBO

Code: Select all

sett debugTestValue,0,2;
FAST

Code: Select all

sett debugTestValue,0,1;
STANDARD

Code: Select all

sett debugTestValue,0,0;
is default in Core right now.

Example:
CMD.png
CMD.png (6.66 KiB) Viewed 1095 times
bounce lights 40 and Fast mode
sett recurse 40; sett debugTestValue,0,1;
------------------------

Turbo mode is incredible fast loader. The difference between standard and turbo is like 3-4 min to 5-20 sec! when scene contain a lot objects.
In some cases scene can crash or freeze but you can tested it.

Quick interface request: could we also have slider buttons for the exposure values?

The one thing I miss is a surface pick option in the VPR window like the Shift click in LW VPR
