Pro Arch Vol 2 and 3 Announcement

Post by Pheidian »

Announcement:

We have currently started working on Pro Arch Vol 2 and 3. We hope we can release them very soon when all current new features are released (Physky and tonemapping). Packages should be ready within two weeks or so, so it's up to G. to release the next RC with current features.

Vol2: 3 architectural exteriors from commercial to residential building, using all the latest ideas including:

- Custom exterior models, textured and surfaced correctly
- Physical sky setups
- GI-setup, optimized for high quality and fast speed
- New instance grass, high quality, ready to use in any other project
- Customized vegetation

Vol3: 3 architectural interiors, from offices to residential interiors, including:

- Custom models, furniture, vegetation
- Physical sky + area + IES light setups for different light conditions
- Optimized GI-setup
- Instanced carpet setups

The base idea of the all renewed two Pro Arch packages is that the scenes pretty much explain everything, and gives good tools for people to load setups from the prepared scenes and to work from them to get professional looks in Kray with ease.

Hi,
I really look forward to get them!
I find it very useful as I bought Vol 1, but to me it needs some infos on the why you use a setting.
Because it's a commercial product and it has to be more consistant than scenes that are shared on this forum.
I can't just imagine using a scenne setting without understanding what I'm doing, this is somehow not really the Lightwave philosophy.

But Exteriors seem promising!

Ok cool that there's some interest on this. :)

We will try to produce basic setup expalanation for universal scene setup (what you need to take into account etc...) But we dont see it that big output to write full explanation for every scene, since it's always a bit scene dependent how you position and setup your lights. Basic idea is, that you can then rip lights from interior scenes with the setup and put them in your own scene and press render to receive 99% similar results. Of course it then always comes down to model / texture quality and surface setups as well as the architectural geometry how the image will look in the end, and that's up to you pro's out there :)

Will these be video tutorials or just scene files and PDF?

I´am looking forward to get them. 8)
One nice feature would be the integration of an setup optimised for animation.
I think lot of people are interested how to setup kray efficient for animation (camera and object movement with gi).
That would be nice!

we will try to boost up the quality in the packages now pretty much, so the package will include:

NOT video, but GOOD pdf tutorial explaining more of the setups and why to use some lights and what to receive with those lights...

there's always relatively big amount of work related in creating good tutorial explanations, so we will see and try to produce good guidelines and explanations for all done, but we will not make total walk trough of creating the scene...

before considering to buy any new collections i would like to see the first collection be updated for the upcoming final release version of kray! current updated scenes don't really match the original renderings very well when rendered with latest internal versions. thanks in advance! would be nice to know that it is safe to invest in such a kray related collection...
