CPU and RAM are the major role players.
Xeons and minimum 32gb of RAM.

Thx! Yes this is minimum for rendering.
If you use After Effects or Fusion then 64 Giga RAM is minimum (with a lot RAM you can turn on multi CPU calculation for animation - is really worth)
Here is test software...if you are under 2000 pts then forget rendering.

Hi Janusz,

2000 points? I get 160fps for OpenGL and 886cb for CPU, this is my setup:

Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00 GHz, 16.0 GB ram.

So basically I should get a Xeon rig with 32 GB ram?

...rendering has no sense under 2000 pts...is waste your life time.
With 3500 pts you can start think about Maxwell.
