Re: Using Kray for many years and I love it !

Man, I can't wait to get my hands on this stuff. I've been forced to work with V-ray the past couple of weeks, and I'd love to show the studio some K3 magic soon.

Re: ribbon

Hi Jean-Claude, I'm replying in english so potentially other people can follow to! What I mean with the bones is really simple, because you don't need to make any difficult rigging setups at all. You just need to create your ribbon as a flay shape in Modeler, along the Z-axis. Then in layout you cre...

Re: ribbon

Have you tried rigging with bones and deforming in Lightwave? Alternatively, do a rail extrude but with two curves, not one. That will allow you to twist. By the way, when rigging with bones, you could even bend without twisting in Layout, and then do the twists on your object in Modeler. I know, it...

Re: 2018 Architectural Visualization Rendering Engine Survey

No surprise that Kray is one of the smaller players, and no problem there. The poll is, however, a bit misleading because it doesn't add up to 100%. Numbers about primary render engine only would undoubtedly be in favor of Kray - I'm pretty sceptical about the high numbers for Unity and Unreal engin...

Re: Lightwave sinking ship ??

There's no use in worrying. The market is too unpredictable, especially with Autodesk buying up everything, and sometimes killing off software. For all we know next year Cinema4D is owned by Autodesk. Or even worse: maybe Autodesk buys LightWave!!! Yes, LightWave seems as if development is standing ...

Re: VR

Hi Jean Claude, I did some work getting stuff on gearVR in a couple of different ways. If you want to have a single object rotating in front of you, in 3D, you need to use unity or unreal. Both are free in basic form, and both are very powerful and fairly easy. I would actually say that you will hav...

Re: Night Room K3RC3

I'm just kidding a bit, but I have to say: ligthing this room with some warm cozy light will make it look a lot better as nice setting during night times, than with the cold flood light coming from up top!

Re: Shader Simulator v2

Heheh! I was only kidding of course! LightWave-related developers tend to be a bit "special" about business, and typically don't want to sell out to one of the big, bad, boring competitors 8) so I was assuming not!

Re: Shader Simulator v2

Totally off-topic for this post, but I do wonder what will happen to CoronaRender and V-Ray, now that ChaosGroup owns both! Sure there will be synergy by merging the two dev-teams and intellectual property, but it hardly makes sense to keep on developing both render engines in parallel.Exciting time...

Re: Dynamic Range

I'm not sure if they are just talking about working in linear color space or not, but the resulting images do look very nice!
