Re: Kray License error
i'm using LW 9.6.1 64 bit a lot and also with kray - but i never had this one. sounds like a corrupt installation to me. are you using kray physical sky build 1092 and kray.lsc build 1207? if you want to test my foolproof method for installing LW on a mac, try this: 1. get applejack (google for it, ...

Re: "Ground those objects" plugin for Mac ?
maybe already OT, but still concerning geometry placement for instancing: i found out today that when you need the points cloud to follow a certain shape, like used for example in baroque style landscaping, in modeler, there's a nice trick. create a complex flat single sided poly with the shape whic...

Re: villa reconstruction
well, the lighting is just a simple 40 m sized lw area light with squared falloff at a 4 km distance, slightly warm colored, and an environment which is using dpont's skylight shader in the environment tab. materials are custom textured, 'lw classic style multi layered' surfaces. sorry, unfortunatel...

villa reconstruction
my first commercial work with kray, a classical villa reconstruction. solid modelling in autodessys formz, tesselated export as LWO's, scene setup in LW 9.6.1 64 bit and rendering with kray 2.1, all on mac. rendertime of the full 4k image was about 1h on a macpro 8 core nehalem 2.66 ghz (rendering o...

Re: "Ground those objects" plugin for Mac ?
afaik, the only way on mac is to use sumatra http://svenart.de/sumatra_about.htm or probably - but only in modeler, some LWCAD tool. unfortunately, there is no simple ROG plugin for mac UB anymore (but there was a free PPC mac modeler plugin on the dstorm site). the sumatra solution is commercial, b...

Re: what we should be looking forward for?
my top wish list includes: * the support of lights exclusion lists for a better compatibility with LW /fprime scenes * a command for setting GI bounces independently from RT depth * support of shadermeister * kray settings as metadata in image formats supporting it * openEXR support * save also part...

Re: Railings
nice work for th emodeling part and surfacing in general, but for me, the metal of the railings does not look very convincing. what should that surface represent? brushed steel? chrome? maybe the reflections gradients (or did u use fresnel?) are not setup correctly - no idea why, but it looks a bit ...
