What about AMD Threadripper 2990WX vs i9 9980XE?

What would you guys consider a good workstation?
What cpu? Still a dual Xeon or dual AMD with 96 threads? Ryzen?. What graphics card?
Any good EU deals at the moment?
We have a budget of let's say around €7000

I always save before exit (and many many times in between )
And it seems to have no further effect so no problem.

Cool is when rendermode is Renderworm (or frost or ripples) you can point the cursor in the renderscreen to see progress in area of interest

SO this simple scene render only with K3 physky2 and sun +tonemapping . NO lEM in window no area light nothing.

Closing when someone mentions schedule then usually include and a time frame. Like you said even now as it looks we are close to K3 final then comes the next stage : shader system, real time tone map and post process. We still have no idea how many time that will take ... These renders are just crazy!!

I opened new scene, imported everything except kray, saved scene
re-opened scene and added Kray with new manual settings but still no luck.

It did render correctly on my other machine so I am not in trouble.
Let's hope this is a freaky one-time glitch

I tried some things and rendered overnight same scene on 2 different machines with result : pc 1 bad.jpg pc 2 good.jpg I am baffled, if it would be software / program / cpu error it would render all scenes erratic on pc1 (which it doesn't) If it would be corrupted scene / objects it would render err...

All of a sudden my render machine starts giving a strange distorted render. While my other machine renders the same scene just fine. Tried rebooting and re-installing kray.
