Re: Lightwave 9.6 released

I think what he is referring to is that the announcement says that one can pick Kray as a renderer for use in screamer net on a network. Where do you find this render engine selection list? You'll find it in LW's render globals window. Make sure that you are using the 9.6+ version of Kray and obvio...

Kray is sold as a universal licence, so you will receive software for both Windows (32 & 64bit LW) and Mac UB from a single licence.

I'm sure you'll agree, great value

Re: What a bout Kray?

3. Kray works faster on Windows than on Mac right now, although fixes are being made to make it faster for mac too... The reason for Kray being faster on Windows is due to a multi-thread issue on Mac intel architecture. This bug does not exist when using dual processor PPC machines like your G5, so...

Re: save image in multiple formats

There is but you need LW9.6 for a F9 render where you save with LW's native render saver, which obviously means you can save in multiple formats from the one Kray render.

Re: Kray 2.0 RC1 released!

Congrats on the release. I have really come to love Kray. The instancing alone should help you sell many more copies. Happy Holidays TBH the instancing alone is the tip of the Kray iceberg when it comes to features. The LW9.5.1+ version is a huge step to making Kray a serious contender and this is ...

Re: Interior

Thank you! Wiki Kray instancing, shall study. :D Johny is using a new implementation of kray instances which is currently in internal beta testing. Unfortunately there is no documentation on the wiki as of yet. The new tools are great as you can use geometry and points instead of nulls to drive ins...

Re: Price about 3d work (architectural) ?

Something else which I believe should be considered when pricing, but I don't think has been mentioned in this thread, is, prices will vary, not just because of your location/ economy but because of the standard of work which you produce. The more experienced/ talented you are the more you can expec...

Re: kray istance answers

there is a sistem to see the boundig box of null objetc istance? :D For the moment you can use "item shape" under the geometry tab of object properties to get a custom bounding box on the instanced null. It's not perfect but it's a solution until the new instancing tools are availa...

Oh I see. I'll pm you then. Try the powergon random clone trick. or maybe there's a plugin out there to clone random nulls in layout. Much prefer hd instance way of cloning though. Less objects in layout. You'll find Johny has been using the new instancing tools now built into Kray (which are not t...

Re: Kray seems harder to set up then before.

Hi Intuition,

At the moment Kray requires to be compiled separately to be compatible with LW9.5.1, so I'm not surprised your getting unpredictable results. I'd stick to the GM 9.5.0 until kray OB9 is out.

Re: Price about 3d work (architectural) ?

I'd be very wary of giving your client the impression that you've invoiced them on the basis of "price per image". The price per image does not scale in real world terms, 1 image of a job may only take a few man hours where as another may be many hundred times that, but the client may not ...
